Emanuel Ax is well on his way to becoming the elder statesman among the world's active pianists. He enjoys making regular appearances at McCarter Theater and this time he returns with an all Beethoven program.

Emanuel Ax is a Grammy-winning American classical pianist and an internationally acclaimed performer. He holds honorary doctorates of music from Yale and Columbia Universities and teaches at the Julliard School. This performance will be an all Beethoven program consisting of:

-   Sonata No. 8 in c, Op.13 (Pathetique)
-   Sonata No. 16 in G, Op.31 No.1
-   Sonata No. 23 in f (Appassionata)
-   Six Variations on a Theme in F, Op.34
-   Polonaise in C, Op. 89

There will also be pre-concert lecture at 6:30PM in the theater by Professor Wendy Heller of the Princeton University Music Department.

Arrive at 6:30PM and enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail compliments of McCarter Theater. A coupon for that libation will be included with your ticket. Enjoy the pre-concert lecture or gather with other Harvard alumni in the West Lobby for good conversation before the performance. Wear crimson so we can easily find each other.
